The Prediction
On February 23, 2008, I posted "Earthquake Will Strike Near Or Under Great Lakes..." http://futurenewsinfo.blogspot.com/2008/02/earthquake-near-or-under-great-lakes.html in which I predicted an earthquake would strike somewhere in the Great Lakes region. Less than two months later, on April 18, 2008, the earthquake I had predicted struck in Illinois.

When I make predictions, I always provide details. Here is what I predicted, with the relevant details highlighted in bold.

“An earthquake will strike in an area where earthquakes do not commonly occur.

“The probable location of this earthquake will be either under one of the Great Lakes or in one of the Canadian provinces or American states near the Great Lakes.”

People in many cities around the Great Lakes will feel the shaking from this earthquake.”

A likely place for this earthquake to strike will be either under Lake Michigan or near the shores of Lake Michigan.”

The people of Milwaukee, Wisconsin will feel this earthquake. The ground under the city of Milwaukee will shake.

Also, the ground will shake in Illinois. The people of Chicago, Illinois will feel the impact from this earthquake. The people of Chicago will feel the ground shaking under Chicago.”

The Confirmation
Here are the facts highlighted in bold which specifically match the details I predicted.

On April 18, 2008, an earthquake struck in the State of Illinois. Illinois is an American state near the Great Lakes and Illinois is located near the shores of Lake Michigan and Illinois is in an area where earthquakes do not commonly occur.

The people of Milwaukee, Wisconsin felt this earthquake. The ground under the city of Milwaukee shook.

The ground shook in Illinois. The people of Chicago, Illinois felt the impact from this earthquake. The people of Chicago felt the ground shaking under Chicago.

Both Chicago and Milwaukee are on the shores of Lake Michigan.

In fact, people in many cities near the Great Lakes felt the shaking from this earthquake.

Confirming Details Reported In The News
(For the sake of accuracy, please note that this earthquake initially was estimated at 5.4 and later revised to 5.2. Here are specific details confirming my prediction, as reported in three separate articles posted by the Associated Press on April 18, 2008, the day the earthquake struck.)

1.) “A 5.4 magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.” [My prediction: “An earthquake will strike in an area where earthquakes do not commonly occur.”]

“The quake just before 4:37a.m. was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee....” [My prediction: The people of Chicago will feel the ground shaking under Chicago,” and “The people of Milwaukee, Wisconsin will feel this earthquake.”]

2.) “Residents across the Midwest were awakened Friday by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that rattled skyscrapers in Chicago’s Loop…. In Chicago, officials were checking structures to ensure there was no damage.” [My prediction: “The people of Chicago, Illinois will feel the impact from this earthquake.”]

“ ‘It shook our house where it woke me up,’ said David Behm of Philo (Illinois) 10 miles south of Champaign (Illinois). ‘Windows were rattling, and you could here it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It’s not like California.’ ” [My prediction: “The ground will shake in Illinois.”]

This was ... felt, all the way to Atlanta, a little bit in Michigan,’ said USGS geophysicist Carrieann Bedwell.” The earthquake was felt not only in Michigan, but “the quake also shook skyscrapers in downtown Indianapolis 160 miles northeast of the epicenter.” [Indianapolis is, of course, in Indiana. Cities in both Michigan and Indiana are located near the Great Lakes and the shores of both of these states are on Lake Michigan. My prediction: “People in many cities around the Great Lakes will feel the shaking from this earthquake,” and, “A likely place for this earthquake to strike will be...near the shores of Lake Michigan.” ]

3.) “Milwaukee—A strong earthquake in southeast Illinois was felt up to 450 miles away early Friday, including southern Wisconsin.”

“Diane Strozyk, 65, felt it in her apartment near the lakefront in downtown Milwaukee. [My prediction: “The people of Milwaukee, Wisconsin will feel this earthquake.” In addition, the lakefront referred to here is “near the shores of Lake Michigan.] Strozyk was sleeping and woke up when the tremor hit about 4:37a.m.

“Jim ‘Lefty’ Murray, 51, said he felt the earthquake in his Chippewa Falls home, about 250 miles northwest of Milwaukee near the Mississippi River. ‘This morning I was awake and heard something rattling in the room next door,’ he said. ‘My desk never shook like that.’ The bed also shook for 20 or 30 seconds, Murray said.”

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the depth of the earthquake was 5.0 kilometers. The quake initially was estimated at 5.4 but later revised by the USGS to 5.2.
